Gradient Mesh

For this gradient mesh project, I decided to recreate my whale piggybank. I painted this piggybank many years ago and have kept in on my dresser since then. It is currently full of approximately three years of spare change and very heavy so when I picked it up to take a picture, I almost dropped it. First, I traced the shape of the whale, then the spots and finally the mouth and eye. Next, I used the gradient mesh tool to better reflect my mediocre paint job. I made some spots lighter than others to match the parts of the whale that have less paint than others. I also added gradient mesh to the polka dots to add dimension. I think this was a cute little project. It took me about thirty minutes.
